Meta is laying off 10 percent of its staff โ
Meta is planning to lay off around 10 percent of its workforce, approximately 8,000 employees, in May, according to a memo from chief people officer Janelle Gale published by Bloomberg. The company will also close approximately 6,000 open roles. The cuts follow Meta's substantial investments in AI infrastructure and talent acquisition, with the company forecasting $115 billion to $135 billion in capital expenditures for 2026.
